Shelby Williams, Honours Student

I originally began my university studies at the Dalhousie Agricultural campus in the Pre-veterinary medicine program, but switched to the Halifax campus in my second year of studies to pursue an interest in molecular biology. Currently, I am in my fourth year of study majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and will be completing an honours project in the Roger Lab. Specifically, I am interested in learning how to acquire and analyze genomic and transcriptomic data, and how to use this data to answer questions involving evolutionary adaptation. My honours project will involve studying a pair of unknown anaerobic protist that are predicted to be Carpediemonas-like organisms.
